FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

#1. Do Brick Pavers require to be sealed?

No, sealing your brick is not necessary, it is the preference of the customer. If you do decide to seal your brick you should wait at least 3 months to allow the sand between the joints of the pavers to be thoroughly swept in.

#2. What are some of the benefits of sealing your brick?

The biggest benefit is that the sealer will harden the sand in between the joints of the brick so that the sand does not wash out, and it will also guarantee no growth between the joints. Another benefit of the sealer is that it will enhance the colors of the brick by giving them a glossy wet look.

#3. Will I have to seal my brick every year?

If you use a good product and do a thorough job you will only have to seal the brick every 2 to 3 years.

#4. Are there any alternatives to hardening the sand between the joints of the Brick Pavers if I do not seal them?

Yes, there is a new product sold now called PolyMeric Sand that you can sweep in between the joints of the pavers and by adding water to this sand it creates a concrete-hard joint.

#5. What can you tell me about snow removal and my pavers?

Pavers can be plowed and shoveled just like asphalt or concrete. A plow with a rubber edge is recommended. Also, don't melt the ice with salt, instead use a salt free sand.

#6. How about Brick Pavers around my pool?

Not only do pavers make an attractive pool deck but they also provide a slip resistant walking surface. pavers are actually better than poured concrete around a pool from the standpoint that the joints will take on moisture and leave the pavers cooler.

#7. Can I really drive a vehicle on top of the Brick Pavers?

Yes, definitely because of their strength and flexibility. Pavers are being used on highways / city streets and commercial ports. But this requires a great sub-grade preparation. A well compacted base together with a good edge restraint will insure a permanent job.

#8. I want to Brick pave my porch, do I have to remove the concrete?
